Spirit Week is a week that students of our junior high participate in by wearing specific outfits to match each days theme. This was our second Spirit Week this school year. This week’s themes are different from the first Spirit Week that was in last December. Three of the days that students most participated in were Hawaiian Day, College Colors Day, and Twin day.
On Hawaiian Day, Friday; students came to school in their Hawaiian shirts and flower leis. Aloha Friday is actually an event celebrated in Hawaii. It was a day created for locals to show off their best Hawaiian getup. Which is their usual polyester shirts with flip-flops.
Another day, Monday, was College colors Day. Students seemed to love coming to school in their favorite schools colors. There were mostly University of Arizona fans among us. This makes the most sense because we are in BEAR DOWN country.
Lastly, Thursday, Twin Day. Students felt most of the students participating in Twin Day. Students coming to school in groups of two or more friends twinning with each other.
Spirit Week was an enjoyable week for having a laugh with friends and wearing something you never thought would leave your house in. Students enjoyed Spirit Week. One student who wishes to remain anonymous says,” I hope we can do it again soon."
